When you book with us, we'll set up a FREE acquaintance visit.
-initially you will fill out our new client registration online.
-go over home instructions
-obtain a key to your home
-and show proof of our valid insurance.
-answer any additional questions you may have.

We need a dog walker or cat sitter, how does this work?

How will I know if Walkin' Paws visited my home on time?

While we do our best to arrive on time, traffic and weather conditions can influence our arrival times. We do request a 2hr window of time for arrival.

We will send a digital report card at the end of each visit including our arrival time. This is sent through our App or email.

Additionally, we often send adorable photos of your pet! 

We will send a digital report card to you after each visit!

We include all the details regarding how everything went during our time with your pet. 

There is no need to reply to these reports/messages unless we ask a question in the report.

We firmly believe in strong communication all across the board with our clients!

Is there a way to hear how my pets are? 

We request a minimum of two week's notice to cancel a regular ongoing dog walking service. 

There is a 50% non-refundable deposit due in order to book pet sitting services. If the deposit was not collected, the balance of 50% is still billed.

For Monday to Friday midday dog walking clients, there is a 50% cancellation fee for regularly booked walks. Full charge less than 24 hrs notice.

To add services we would appreciate at least 48hrs notice to plan accordingly. The further ahead, the better to ensure our availability.

When booking dog boarding, we recommend booking as far in advance as possible to ensure you can secure your desired dates.
We do have to be super diligent with boarding as we have 2 resident kitties and a senior dog.

Yes. All keys are kept in a passcode protected safe.

We keep your key on file to make future bookings easier for you; once a key is on file it is very easy to add a last minute service.

We offer key pickup and drop off for a charge of $25 per pickup and return if you do decide to have the key returned.


Do you keep my key?

Yes, we operate 365 days a year.

There is an additional charge of $5 per visit for evenings or weekends.

On statutory holidays we charge an extra $10 per visit.

Are you available on evenings & weekends?

Are you bonded & insured?

Yes, we are fully insured and bonded through the Aviva Insurance Co.

We will provide all clients a copy of valid insurance upon request.  All IC’s and employees are also covered under our commercial policy.

Yes, family members, cleaning companies, and others are allowed to access the home while we're caring for your pets. 

Please provide us with a list of names and contact numbers for those persons with access.

We will not be held responsible for damage or negligence of other parties, however our insurance is limited and often void in this situation.

Can others access our home while our pets are in your care?

While we understand that many cats are accustomed to spending some time out in the fresh air, we do not allow this during our service time.

Many things can go wrong and we do not feel comfortable taking chances with your pet.

We have many bookings each day and if your cat leaves your property we would not have the time to locate it. 

Do you allow our cats to roam free?

Do you walk in rain & snow?

Yes, we walk in all kinds of weather and adjust each visit accordingly.

Thankfully, many dogs DO love rain and snow. We do our absolute best to adjust to each dogs comfort level with rain, snow and heat. 

Please leave a towel at your front door in inclement weather conditions. Any booties, paw protectants, rain coats etc

We require a 50% booking fee to be paid during the acquaintance visit to secure your requested dates of service.

Payment is due in full upon the first visit to your home.

For regular dog walking clients we do a bi-weekly billing.

We accept cash, cheque and e-transfer.

HST is collected on each visit.
